Obama Campaigner, Facebook Cofounder Takes A PR Job
This is interesting news tidbit. I know all of us or most of us know about facebook and some of us may even be addicted. Did you know that a co-founder of facebook now has a job for President Obama? Chris Hughs a cofounder of facebook now has a public relations job for President Obama. Hughs quit working with facebook in early 2007 to help that campaign for the Obama Campaign in the web operations department.
Hughs helped revolutionized US politics forever, and will soon be a stragegic advisor for GMMB Communications, a subsidiary of Fleishman-Hillard.
I am an avid facebook user, and I can say that this is something that does interest me. Facebook is really making a name for it self if it is getting right up there with the president. To see how facebook has grown in to billions of people joining up together, maybe not to be together but to be in contact with. Just to think that he could bring that same uniting to the White House and with President Obama, to see how our country can bond together to be stronger.

I think it's pretty cool that an up-and-comer young person like this has such a big role in the administration. Up to this point, it seems like younger people had nothing really to identify with--all they see on TV in politics are old white guys in suits. Granted, this is a young white guy in a suit, but at least he's young!
ReplyDeleteThere has been some comparison between this new president and Kennedy and I wonder if this new PR guy will be scheduling as many family pictures as there were of the Kennedys. Seems likely given the good looking family--I doubt many would want to look at pictures of, say, Taft, given his girth. But these people are actually nice to look at!
I think it is amazing that he was able to make Facebook as huge as it is and then move on to working with the president. Facebook was a genius idea in the first place obviously, because millions of people are using it. I think it was a good find for Obama because Hughs was able to make Facebook explode from nothing into something huge. So after he did that there is no reason to think he can't help Obama out greatly before and during his presidency.
ReplyDeleteFacebook has grown into such an enormous company. I can remember when it first was created, I was still on Myspace and was resisting the switch to this new Facebook thingy! I think that Chris Hughes working for the Obama is a huge PR move and I feel that it is for the best. If a young man can create a company as big as Facebook, imagine what he can do for the Whitehouse. Hopefully he can help bring this country and build it up from nothing like he did with Facebook.
